Editing my short film

I started editing my film using Adobe Premier today! It is not as difficult as I imagined it to be! I learnt so much about where I went wrong while shooting and directing the film. These are the few things that I noted down, which I would keep in mind while filming next time:

  • Shoot continuous scenes so that while editing the film it looks cohesive!
  • AVOID using the monopod, as its not very steady.
  • Shoot with professional actors.
  • Make sure the actor stays in the act and doesn’t look at the camera until I stop filming because the changing body movements make it very difficult to link the videos.
  • Think twice before shooting outdoors, and do not increase the ISO, which adds a lot of noise to the footage.
  • Book one extra light while shooting, because any light can stop working at anytime.

I edited all the the videos and arranged them chronologically. Tried to make the clips look snappier so that the video is short and crisp. Elle showed me how to colour correct the videos. I shot all the videos in different lighting so I had to colour correct them individually. I had to make sure that they look like a part of the same film!
